Screw The Critics and Reviews! Go See Captain America: Brave New World

Yep! That’s what I believe after watching the latest Cap film.

Even though Captain America: Brave New World premiered on Valentine’s Day, it hasn’t gotten much love from the critics, with a 50% Rotten Tomatoes score which I don’t understand.

In my humble opinion, the critics got this one wrong.

Let’s start a spoiler free discussion as to why I believe that.

Anthony Mackie plays Captain America with so much passion and heart, which confirms that Sam Wilson was the better choice for Steve Rogers’ successor.

Harrison Ford, of course, did his thing! This was probably the most growth we’ve seen with the Ross character so far. And I don’t mean him turning into the Red Hulk.

They (Marvel) gave us the Red Hulk, which was badass. Enough said with that.

Giancarlo Esposito literally killed it as Sidewinder, but I was hoping for more Serpent Society in this movie.

Joaquin Torres is an excellent sidekick to Wilson’s. I look forward to his journey to becoming the next Falcon.

Overall, I thought it was a good movie.

True, the plot and villain’s motivations weren’t super complicated, which was refreshing. Some of the recent Marvel movies have tried to pack in way too much into their convoluted stories.

There are some incredible ground and sky action sequences. Thank you, Wakandan tech!

I saw that this movie made over $100 million dollars over this weekend. This is awesome because it may mean people aren’t listening to the critics.

I’m ranking this installment as my third favorite among the Captain America solo films. Only because it followed The Winter Soldier and Civil War. Both are probably considered top tier Marvel movies. At least one of these is in my top ten of all MCU movies.

My ranking for the four Cap movies.

1) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2) Captain America: Civil War
3) Captain America: Brave New World
4) Captain America: The First Avenger

Once again, screw the critics and reviews! Go see Captain America: Brave New World in the theaters, or wait til it comes to Disney+ for yourself.
