We’re almost two months into 2023, and we’ve already seen some exciting collaborations between two North Carolina breweries and other well know businesses within the state.
We saw the results of these collaborations when each brewery announced their new beverages on their social media pages. What’s gripping about these unique beverages are the very famous flavors. The breweries partnered with some NC pillars to work their distinctive tastes into a hard sweet tea and wheat ale.
“LEGENDARY” is what Appalachian Mountain Brewery (AMB) said in a January Instagram post about their Bojangles Hard Sweet Tea. I’ve never had a hard sweet tea. Still, I’ve drank plenty of Bojangles regular sweet tea with a Cajun fillet biscuit and fries, the two staples of the fast food chain that first opened in Charlotte. And the Boone-located AMB makes excellent beer and ciders. So I will try this hard sweet tea with all the enjoyment both companies have provided me.
Earlier this week, Charlotte’s Noda Brewing Company started advertising their Cheerwine Ale. They described this beer as a wheat ale made with Salisbury’s Cheerwine. This cherry beer sounds right up my alley. I prefer wheat beers, and Cheerwine is one of my top soft drinks. Add this to the beers I need to drink list.
I love seeing these North Carolina companies working together. This is extra cool because their type of products are ones that I’m interested in and usually make me happy.
Both collaborations are very similar and were announced one month apart. It almost seems like this was done deliberately. Like when DC or Marvel pushes back their movies to not compete with each other. It’s a fun hypothetical to imagine what else could come out this year. How about a Krispy Kreme coffee ale in March or a Pepsi-flavored pale ale in April?
AMB’s Bojangles Hard Sweet Tea is coming out in Spring 2023, and Noda’s Cheerwine Ale is available in four-pack cans and on draft at their taprooms.
